SCI Foundation closes in on one million dollar investment in lion conservation and research

Safari Club International Foundation announced that it is close to hitting a major milestone by contributing nearly $1 million to African lion projects for conservation and research.

“SCI Foundation has continually been a leader in lion conservation in collaboration with the African lion range states,” said SCI Foundation President Joe Hosmer.

This new information comes at a crucial time when the international conservation community is conducting a review on lions, which will determine whether lions are appropriately listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. CITES aims to ensure international trade of wild animals and plants does not threaten the survival of the species. For more information, please visit www.sci-foundation.org.
