BAREBOW! An Archer’s Fair-Chase Taking of North America’s Big-Game 29

bookbarebowBy Dennis Dunn, Documentary Media, Kirkland, Wash., 2008. 504 pp. Available at www.str8arrows.com and at selected sporting goods stores.
This handsome 504-page, 9-pound coffee-table style book was a labor of love for Dunn, who worked on it full time for four years. It contains 104 short stories of adventure and misadventure – all autobiographical and true – spread over 43 years, recounting the more interesting, dramatic or humorous tales from Dunn’s personal odyssey of pursuing, and ultimately taking, all 29 species of North American big game using a barebow, meaning without sights for aiming. The book also features 30 color plates by Idaho artist Hayden Lambson, 60 color photos by Dunn and wildlife pencil drawings by Dallen Lambson, Hayden’s son. Dunn is offering a complimentary copy of the book to any OWAA member who intends to write a review of the book for publication.
