Louisiana first to adopt national boat training curriculum

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division became the first agency in the U.S. to receive both state and national accreditation in the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators Boat Operations and Training program. The program establishes a national standard for the training and qualification of maritime law enforcement and rescue personnel. Standardization ensures maritime agencies can interact together and increase their ability to act as a single force. Through their partnership with NASBLA, LDWF will offer the program training courses for other state law enforcement entities in the near future.
