Outdoor Channel announces new shows

TEMECULA, CALIF. – A lineup of 88 shows, including 12 “all-new” series premieres, were unveiled by Outdoor Channel as the company announces its third quarter (Q3) programming slate, featuring the top celebrities, anglers and hunters in the fields of fishing, hunting, shooting and adventure entertainment.
Among the slate of Outdoor Channel’s brand-new series is “Under Armour Presents Ridge Reaper” (airs Mondays at 11 p.m. ET), featuring Jason Carter and the Under Armour team as they relentlessly pursue some of the largest big-game trophies in western North America. The series is a powerful addition to Outdoor Channel’s already-strong summer roster as it brings one of the world’s leading and most innovative sports apparel brands into the high action outdoor entertainment arena.
The series is joined by 11 additional all-new programs and 76 returning favorites featuring the biggest names in outdoor television: legendary icon Ted Nugent; hunting favorites Lee & Tiffany Lakosky, Michael Waddell, and Jim Shockey; along with celebrity Joe Mantegna; WWE legend Shawn Michaels; Willie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty”; and country music stars Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Craig Morgan.

In addition to “Under Armour Presents Ridge Reaper,” the other brand-new series for Q3 2013 are:

  • “Primal Instinct” [Airs Mondays 10:30 p.m. ET/ 7:30 p.m. PT]

The “Primal Instinct” crew ventures across North America in search of big game. This group knows how to have a good time and get the job done. Big whitetails are their passion and the only thing that makes hunting them even better is having the bow in hand.

  • “Mathews Adventure Bowhunter” [Airs Mondays 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. PT]

Thirteen years in the making, adventure bowhunter Tom Miranda has travelled the North American continent in pursuit of the Super Slam of North American Big Game, consisting of 29 animals. Witness the successes and failures – the great shots and the missed shots – in one man’s pursuit to capture the essence of big-game bowhunting.

  • “Hank Parker’s Flesh & Blood” [Airs Tuesdays 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT]

“Hank Parker’s Flesh & Blood” is a family hunting show that features Hank Parker, two-time Bassmaster Classic Champion. Hank is joined by his two sons, Hank Parker Jr. and Billy “Catfish” Parker, who both started their careers as NASCAR drivers. Watch as they hunt big game, share a few laughs and give back to community.

  • “Swarovski Optik Quests” [Airs Wednesdays 6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT]

“Swarovski Optik Quests” host Dean Capuano travels the globe in search of trophies that are on every hunter’s bucket list, whether it be an Alaskan Grizzly bear, Argentinean Red Stag or an Austrian Chamois. Follow in each of these thrilling adventures where the hunter’s equipment and determination is put to the test in the planet’s most extreme environments with the most challenging animals.

  • “Trip Gone Bad” [Airs Fridays 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT]

“Trip Gone Bad” shares stories of survival as told by the outdoorsmen who lived to tell the tales. Featuring vivid, action-packed re-enactments, this series plunges viewers firsthand into the life and death struggles that each outdoorsman encountered and the techniques used to come out alive.

  • “Winchester Legends” [Airs Fridays 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT]

Spanning the globe, “Winchester Legends” hosts Bob Foulkrod, Steve Farris, Melissa Bachman and Allen Treadwell each bring their unique skills to the challenges of hunting and are put to the ultimate test. Drawing from the spirit of hunting’s storied history, with a focus on passing down knowledge from one generation to the next, the series is a showcase for the lifestyle of this great tradition and sport of hunting.

  • “Razor Dobbs Alive” [Airs Fridays 9:30 p.m. ET/ 6:30 p.m. PT]

Big-game hunter Razor Dobbs takes the television screen by storm as he hunts tirelessly through bush veldt thorn and desert sand for the ultimate connection with Mother Earth. Each episode is its own story about Razor, a cast of crazy characters and the situations they find themselves in while hunting big game.

  • “Winchester Rack Masters” [Airs Fridays 10:30 p.m. ET/ 7:30 p.m. PT]

“Winchesters Rack Masters” brings together seasoned pros Bob Foulkrod, Ron Spomer, Steve Stoltz, Allen Treadwell and Melissa Bachmann as they share their experiences from decades of pursuit of their passion – the American deer. Each week, a different host journeys to a new location and shares their personal perspective and strategies on how to be the best deer hunter.

  • “Ultimate Buck Zone” [Airs Fridays at 11:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. PT]

“Ultimate Buck Zone” is an intense, in-depth look into the rarely seen world of the American deer. From coast-to-coast, opening day till the close of the season, deer hunting legend, author and host Mark Kayser, shares a wealth of closely held, and little known, deer hunting secrets.

  • “The Bucks of Tecomate” [Airs Saturdays 10:30 a.m. ET/ 7:30 a.m. PT]

Hosted by renowned whitetail author, hunter and manager David Morris, food plot pioneer Gary Schwarz and the Tecomate Team, the show takes viewers across North America in pursuit of world-class whitetails. Along the way, Tecomate’s big buck professionals share cutting-edge management and hunting strategies for giant whitetails.

  • “Ram Outdoorsman” [Airs Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. ET/ 8:30a.m. PT]

“Ram Outdoorsman” is the series for the go-anywhere hunter with the vehicle that can take them from the mountains to the marshes and all points in-between. It’s about overcoming challenges, hunting harder than ever and uncovering the greatest rewards the sport has to offer. It’s about living in the moment of a hunt, dreaming about future adventures, and honoring those who came before us to create this uniquely American outdoor culture and spirit. Led by hosts Michael Hunsucker and Shawn Luchtel, watch as the duo pursue large and small game on incredible hunts through the Midwest and beyond, hunting for everything from whitetail deer to Canada geese.

  • “Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild” [Airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT]

Rock and roll icon, legendary outdoorsman and Outdoor Channel star Ted Nugent gears up for an all-new season of hunting adventure! Follow the “Motor City Madman” and the Nugent family as they interact with the outdoors, providing both education and entertainment. “The Nuge” will teach and advise on all aspects of hunting from his perspective as a lifelong outdoorsman.

  • “MidwayUSA’s Gun Stories” [Airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT]

Returning for its third season, “MidwayUSA’s Gun Stories” tracks legendary firearms that have made a significant impact on history – from creation to operation to what made them legendary. Hosted by actor and gun buff Joe Mantegna, the new season features famous firearms that appeal to history buffs and gun aficionados alike. Historians, enthusiasts and experts join Mantegna to trace the path and explore the definitive history of some of the greatest firearms ever made in hunting, military and sporting.

  • “Sasquatch” [Airs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 4:30 p.m. PT]

Born of Indian ancestry and trained by Mountain Men, Laramy “Sasquatch” Miller uses only a handmade bow and a traditional .54 caliber Hawken Rifle to travel, hunt, trap and survive as the mountain men did in the mid-1800s. He battles inclement weather and harsh conditions to retrace the steps and relive the sagas of the Mountain Men. Former WWE star Shawn Michaels and his longtime friend and owner/operator of MacMillan River Adventures Camp, Keith Mark, hunt their way across the globe for the largest big-game beasts. They’ll be joined by special WWE guests along the way.
