The Mid-Atlantic Young Birder Conference, sponsored by the American Birding Association and Leica Sport optics, will be held Sept. 22, 2012, at the Ashland Nature Center in Hockessin, Del.
The event will feature bird walks led ABA and Leica staff, along with indoor sessions for new and experienced birders. There will also be special sessions for parents, mentors and club coordinators. Keynote presenters include Marie McGee, ABA’s 2012 Young Birder of the Year, and Bill Thompson III, editor of Bird Watcher’s Digest and author of “The Young Birder’s Guide to Birds of Eastern North America” and “The Young Birder’s Guide to Birds of North America.”
