The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will host a public meeting Dec. 9 to provide an update on black bear recovery efforts and research. In addition, department personnel will provide landowners and hunting clubs with information regarding hunting areas occupied by bears. The Louisiana Black Bear was listed under the Endangered Species Act in 1992 as a threatened species.
