Hunter hosts needed for Governor's deer hunting opener

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton will carry on the Governor’s Opener tradition during the ninth annual Governor’s Deer Hunting Opener in the Biwabik area from Nov. 3-5. The event is to honor the deer hunting tradition, educate youth and promote ethical hunting practices. MDHA is looking for hunting hosts for visiting dignitaries and media outlets to have an up-close and personal “deer camp” experience. Biwabik area residents are encouraged to volunteer; for more information and a complete Hunter Host Application, visit www.mngovernorsdeeropener.weebly.com or contact MDHA at 218-327-1103, ext. 12. Camps selected as hunter hosts receive a gift package provided courtesy of non-government event sponsors.
