The leader in electric propulsion, Torqeedo, has designated Boynton Beach, Florida’s EPowerMarine as an aftermarket installer for Deep Blue, the company’s award-winning, 80 hp electric outboard system. The concept behind this is to provide options for smaller builders and consumers looking to retrofit their boats with the new system. OEM channel sales will still be conducted through Torqeedo Inc., based in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
“EPowerMarine has been a fantastic partner of ours and Capt. Todd Sims has been a key driver of growth to our business on the southeast coast. Having his company take this opportunity with us is exciting and we are confident in the results we are expecting,” said Chris Carroll, vice president of sales.
With a company philosophy of “We don’t also do electric boats. All we do are electric boats!”, EPowerMarine has been in business since 2006. Its south Florida location allows the company to directly serve the large number of commercial boat operators, many of whom can benefit greatly from the Deep Blue platform.
Torqeedo’s Deep Blue system was released earlier this year, winning both the coveted DAME award and also the NMMA Innovation Award. The system is currently offered in both 80 hp and 40 hp configurations and can also be installed as a twin application. New products within the category are set to be announced over the coming weeks.
