Rob Drieslein named president of Outdoor News Publications

Plymouth, Minn. (July 16, 2013) —  Owner Glenn Meyer announced today that Rob Drieslein has been named president of Outdoor News Publications. Drieslein has been managing editor of all Outdoor News weekly and biweekly newspapers since 2003.
“Rob shares my management philosophy and operates with a high degree of integrity,” said Meyer, who purchased Minnesota Outdoor News in l987. “He demands high standards from himself and that shows in our publications. That attitude is what we need to carry this company into the future.”
Drieslein, 43, was hired in l997 as editor of Minnesota Outdoor News. Six years later he moved up to managing editor of all Outdoor News Publications titles. Previously, he was associate editor of Bowhunting World and Archery Business magazines as well as the outdoor writer and a general assignment reporter for the Winona Daily News. He has a degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“I’m truly humbled to take the reins,” said Drieslein. “We believe we have the right editorial formula and business model to expand into other states. It is my job to see that we achieve just that. I want to see Outdoor News succeed for our employees and the customers we serve.”
Drieslein lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota with his wife and four children.
