At the end of a heated, three-day battle, Thomas Boatwright of Perdido, Ala., bested 15 of the nation’s top competitors in the 2011 Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge. Presented by Mobil 1, sponsors include Bass Pro Shops, Outdoor Channel, Toyota and Smith & Wesson, among others. The 8th annual event, widely regarded as the nation’s premier competition for hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, was held Sept. 8-10, at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park in Lampe, Mo. The 2011 Total Outdoorsman Championship marks Boatwright’s second title, repeating a feat he first accomplished at the 2009 event.
