OWAA member, Angelo Peluso, was recently recognized by the NYS DEC for his state record catch of an Atlantic Bonito.  The same year this fish was caught, Angelo also caught three IGFA fly rod tippet class world record bonito. All fish were caught from the Long Island Sound. Although the NYS record fish was caught in 2003, Atlantic Bonito were only recently added to the list of marine species eligible for record status. At the time Angelo caught this bonito he recognized its special qualities and took all measurements, photos and had it weighed on a merchant scale validated by the NYS Bureau of Weights and Measures.
