Northern Wilds Begins Monthly Publication

Grand Marais, Minn. Northern Wilds is celebrating its 10th year of publication by becoming a monthly magazine. Redesigned for a larger, colorful format, Northern Wilds now offers expanded editorial content.
“We wanted to develop a magazine that better reflects today’s North Shore,” says co-founder and publisher Shawn Perich.
Readers will now find stories about the arts, entertainment, dining and coming events, including the popular NorthShore ArtScene column and a monthly pull-out calendar of events. Each issue contains outdoor recreation stories, personality profiles, photo features and community news. Northern Wilds coverage and distribution area is the Lake Superior’s North Shore in Minnesota and Ontario and the wilderness beyond.
“We try to blur the border,” says co-founder and publisher Amber Pratt.  “Our readers frequently cross the border to shop, go out to eat or enjoy recreational activities.”
Advertising in Northern Wilds includes a wide range of North Shore businesses that serve local residents and visitors.  Included in every issue, is the Ultimate Real Estate guide with listings from real estate companies on both sides of the border.
To best serve advertisers and readers, Northern Wilds is available free at 150 locations from Duluth to Thunder Bay, including the Gunflint Trail and Ely. The magazine is mailed to all households in Cook County.  In addition, a free online subscription is available. Readers primarily interested in the arts and entertainment can subscribe to the weekly NorthShore ArtScene blog.
