It’s time to roll up your sleeves, scroll through your contacts list, flip through your Rolodex, and help widen the OWAA tent.

The recruitment campaign began February 1, 2026 and ends on July 31, 2026. OWAA is calling on each of its constituents to actively enlist potential new members into joining. Student and Associate members are also valid for recruitment.

The rules are simple:

• Seek outdoor writers, photographers, podcasters, bloggers, editors, videographers, etc. who would benefit from joining OWAA and share your experience with them.
• Direct them to the OWAA application page and have them complete the necessary form by clicking the appropriate APPLY NOW tab.
• The applying member must list the recruiting OWAA member as a SPONSOR (this is crucial in tracking the recruitment leaderboard).
• For every new member you successfully recruit, you will get one entry on the Wheel of Names.
• We will spin the wheel of names monthly.
• Winners will take their pick from a very robust, very well-outfitted list of prizes — from outdoor gear brand gift cards to outdoor magazine subscriptions, class vouchers, and even a trip or two (see below).
