Wyoming’s Wind River Country put together a list of things to do on weeknights in the area, and the cultural events are kicking off this week.
The summer’s first Northern Arapaho Experience dancing took place last night, Tuesday, June 7 at 6 p.m. The performance—complete with narrative to teach viewers about the dances, dancers, and their breathtaking regalia—will repeat every Tuesday evening of the summer at the Wind River Hotel and Casino near Riverton.
Starting next Wednesday, June 15, the Museum of the American West in Lander will also host weekly educational Native American dance performances. The Eagle Spirit Dancers will present traditional dancing, and an emcee will explain it all, starting at 7 p.m. each Wednesday on the lawn behind the museum.
Both weeknight events are free to the public and are interactive—expect to be invited to join hands for the circle dance or friendship dance just as the drums start to inspire you to move.
