OWAA headquarters is sad to report the death of 41-year OWAA member Jack Lorenz. He died Tuesday while vacationing in California. Conservation giant Lorenz was the executive director of the Izaak Walton League of America from 1974 to 1992. First serving as the League’s editor, Lorenz in his second year was hired as its CEO. During his tenure, Lorenz was honored with the League’s highest honors. He was also co-founder of The Wildlife Habitat Council, and authored several books. A church service will be held at 11 a.m. March 28 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, Va., with a reception to follow at 1 p.m. at the Alexandria Country Day School on Russell Road in Alexandria.
