Buck Knives welcomes collectors club

POST FALLS — Buck Knife enthusiasts from around the world are celebrating 25 years of collecting knives at the Post Falls factory this week.
Buck Knives will host seminars and factory tours throughout the week for the enthusiastic collectors group. It’s the second time the Buck Collectors Club has centered their celebration at the Buck Knives headquarters. The club is comprised of over 1500 members.
“The members of the Buck Collectors Club are extremely passionate about Buck knives,” said Bob George, Director of Sales and Marketing for Buck Knives. “It is an honor to have them visit our home town and be a part of their 25thanniversary.”
The Buck Collectors Club silver anniversary celebration started on Tuesday and runs through Friday. Wednesday night, the club will celebrate with a sunset dinner cruise on Lake Coeur d’Alene.
“We have been looking forward to returning to Buck Knives,” said Larry Oden, Vice President of the Buck Collectors Club. “For many of us, we live, eat and breathe Buck Knives and visiting the factory is the highlight of the year for us.”
Other events include a knife swap at the Mirabeau Park Hotel in Spokane Valley. The knife swap will begin 7p.m. Thursday and will include raffles, auctions, artisan demonstrations, and book signing by Chuck and CJ Buck.
“The Collectors club was very important to my father as it is to me, CJ and our entire family,” said Chuck Buck, Chairman of Buck Knives. “In fact, they are like a part of the family and it is a pleasure to have them here.”
The club will end their festivities Friday, August 2, with a catered picnic hosted by Chuck and Lori Buck at their home.
“We have seen an amazing change since we were here five years ago,” said John Foresman, President of the Buck Collectors Club. “We have received such a warm welcome not only from Chuck and Lori, but from all of the employees as well. Being here is almost like a family reunion, not an anniversary.”
The club began its week with a kick-off banquet at Mirabeau Park Hotel & Convention Center in Spokane Valley with special guests from Buck Knives, as well as keynote speaker, Steve Shackleford, Editor of Blade Magazine.
About the Buck Collectors Club: The BUCK COLLECTORS CLUB was started to reach and unite all collectors. The Collectors Club was founded by Vern Taylor in order to help people learn about the many reasons to collect Buck knives, and to share their knowledge with others.
