MEMPHIS, TN — The new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World retail store slated for the iconic Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee, will now include the Ducks Unlimited logo thanks to approval by the Downtown Memphis Commission Design and Review Board. The review board approved the signage during a special meeting on Tuesday.
The DU logo will grace the south side of the Pyramid to highlight the 4,600-square-foot Waterfowling Heritage Center that is part of the new retail store.
“I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to the Memphis review board for their approval of this project,” said DU CEO Dale Hall. “The Pyramid is a landmark structure in Memphis and for Memphis and Bass Pro Shops to include DU in the development plans is a statement about the commitment to conservation by both.”
Inside the Bass Pro store, the Waterfowling Heritage Center will include an interactive experience for each visitor. From how it feels to sit in a duck blind on a cold morning to the thrill of watching decoying ducks, the Center is more than just a walk through history.
Although DU’s reach is global in scope, the organization’s headquarters are based in Memphis. And, much like the Pyramid that will don its logo, DU has called the city home for more than 20 years.
“We’re particularly excited to partner with DU to celebrate the proud history and great work they do,” said Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris. “We will utilize the unique retail environment we’re creating to celebrate the (Mississippi) flyway and make this store the Waterfowl Center for the whole company.”
