NEWTOWN, Conn. – The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that registration is open for its newest educational event, the Firearms Retailer Security Conference.
Intended to provide firearms retailers with the latest information on store security hardware, software and other technology, this all-new conference will also bring into focus back-office operations, inventory and cash management, employee background screening, shipping and receiving protocols, store firearms policies and other best practices that relate to overall store security and loss prevention. The day-and-a-half-long conference will be moderated by members of NSSF’s Security Consultant Team and ATF Special Agents, and a number of leading security products companies will be on hand to demonstrate their wares and services.
“We are experiencing an increased demand from our retailers for improved security products and training, some of those in the face of increasingly brazen store break-ins, others because they’re looking for ways to navigate the vast amount of security-oriented hardware and take advantage of the technological advancements offered today,” explained Patrick Shay, NSSF Director, Retail Development. “This conference, the first of its kind, was created to answer that demand and provide a solid foundation of products, store plans and policies that any FFL can implement to improve upon their current safeguards.”
The 2016 Firearms Retailer Security Conference will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, August 16-17 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Plaza in Atlanta, Georgia. Conference check-in will be offered Monday, August 15. Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the all-day Tuesday session, followed by a cocktail reception in the evening, while Wednesday’s half-day portion will include breakfast. NSSF members may register for this conference for $399, while non-members may register for $749. Click here to register and view hotel, agenda and speaker information. Need to join NSSF? Click here.
