Outdoor Market - writingWant to be the Outdoors editor for a daily newspaper in the great outdoors of the great state of Alaska?

Jobs like this don’t come along too often.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is looking for a skilled journalist to write about hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, climbing, skiing, snowmobiling (it’s called snowmachining up here), and the many other activities that draw people to the Last Frontier.

The Outdoors editor is responsible for the weekly Outdoors section, working with the page designer, as well as for providing stories throughout the week. Some general assignment reporting is also involved.

The News-Miner is a seven-day daily newspaper in the middle of Alaska’s beautiful and rugged Interior. It is the second-largest newspaper in the largest state in the nation, and we cover a huge geographic range with a wide variety of stories.

E-mail a cover letter, resume and clips/links to Managing Editor Rod Boyce at editor@newsminer.com.
