Minnesota Conservation Volunteer

The bimonthly publication of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources circulates to more than 165,000 subscribers in Minnesota. The publication accepts queries for features (1,200 to 1,800 words) and field notes (200 to 500 words). Payment is typically $0.50 per assigned word for original features and essays of average length and difficulty, and $100 for e-rights to features, essays and reprints (available indefinitely in archives). The publication is always looking for fresh perspectives from professional photographers in the field of Minnesota wildlife, scenic and outdoor photography. On occasion, the publication will use the work of professional phtoograhers when certain qualities put their photography on par with established magazine standards.
