JOB: Environment/energy reporter

This is a new beat for the Sacramento Bee that spans air quality, energy and green technology, to be covered from a business and consumer perspective. California Air Resources Board regulations are driving much of the new investment in green technology, so this reporter would monitor how the agency is implementing the state’s efforts to cut greenhouse gases and improve air quality. This is a topic area we expect to produce stories of state and even national interest, as California leads the nation in efforts to address climate change. Interested candidates should have proven records in specialized reporting, either covering the environment or business, or through investigative work. Candidates should be able to take complex information and explain it in an engaging style that is easy to understand. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to use digital tools.
