The American Sportfishing Association presents: The Economic Impact of Sportfishing in America webinar

3/18/2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM ET

Join the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), the trade association for the recreational fishing industry, for a virtual briefing on our latest economic impact report for sportfishing in the U.S. ASA staff will present the most recent data for each state and congressional district, demonstrating how these figures can be used to enhance your stories and guide outdoor recreation policy. This exclusive event is designed specifically for OWAA members.
The recreational fishing industry is a major contributor to the nation's economy, generating hundreds of billions of dollars each year. Its influence is felt across a wide range of sectors, from manufacturers and retailers to fishing guides, marinas, and local restaurants and hotels. The economic footprint of recreational fishing is particularly important in rural and coastal communities, where it plays a central role in supporting local businesses and jobs.
During the briefing, we’ll dive into the updated numbers and explain the methods used to generate these figures. We'll also share real-world examples of how the economic impact of recreational fishing has driven positive change at both the state and federal levels. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how you can leverage these insights to better advocate for the benefits of recreational angling.
