OWAA provides members (and sometimes non-members) access to professional development content to help improve your craft, stay up to date on the latest and greatest achievements in the outdoors and outdoors industries and attain new story ideas. OWAA events include:

  • An annual, in-person conference (generally in the June/July time frame)
  • An annual virtual event in February
  • A series of webinars throughout the year on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 P.M. Eastern (followed by a casual social hour for those that would like to stay on to chat and network)
Non-members that attend OWAA events and then decide to join later can have the registration fee for the event attended subtracted from the price of their annual dues. 
OWAA Webinar - The in's and out's of gear reviews

Longtime gear reviewer (and OWAA second vice president) Kris Millgate will take us through the do's and do not's of successful gear reviews, including approaching and following up with manufacturers, finding appropriate outlets, receiving and managing gear, building longterm relationships and more. Additional details for this craft improvement session will be added later. 

As always, the hourlong webinar will be followed by a casual social hour for those that would like to stay on.
