Nature, the international weekly journal of science, seeks a Chief of Correspondents, North America, to oversee its North American news coverage. The role supervises seven reporters and a network of freelancers to cover US and Canada-based developments in all fields of research, the scientific community, policy, funding, and science and society, online and in print. The Chief of Correspondents commissions and edits stories, and works with art, production, and online editors to deliver unique, high-impact journalism aimed at an audience of working scientists.
We seek a science journalist with extensive reporting and editing experience and a demonstrated interest in science policy and funding as well as in research findings. Management skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive under pressure. The job is based in Nature’s Washington, DC, office.
