The Outdoor Writers Association of America, in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Extension, Minnesota 4H Foundation and Safari Club International will offer a half-day workshop, “Becoming an Outdoor Communicator,” Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Heintz Center, 1926 Collegeview Lane SW, Rochester, Minn. The workshop will be open to students, ages 12-18, and will explore the topic of outdoor communications as a career path.
Workshop subjects will include:
- Outdoor photography.
- Working with magazines and newspapers.
- Outdoor radio shows.
- Outdoor opportunities in television.
- Outdoor consulting opportunities.
- Outdoor books for fun and profit.
- Additional topics and workshop speakers to be announced.
No experience is necessary! We all started with just interest and desire. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
