Mike and Annie Hopper, owner/builders of the new Lodge at Black Rapids at mile 227.4 Richardson Highway would like to extend you a very special invitation. We are prepared to offer you and yours a truly memorable mountain getaway! We are long-time Alaskans and most of you know we have been building our lodge over the course of nine years! Black Rapids is built using almost all Alaskan materials, built by Alaskans, displaying Alaskan artists! The historic roadhouse rests on the Richardson Highway and we now spin stories by a warm fire of the characters and history that accompanies the area!

The Lodge at Black Rapids is a beautiful, new 7,300 square foot timber frame lodge with expansive views of the Black Rapids Glacier, the Alaska Mountain Range, and wildlife. At the gateway to some of the most accessible alpine wilderness in Alaska, the Lodge is a premier road accessible four-season retreat. Indoors we feature the quiet luxury of a private alpine hide-away, fireplaces, stain glass in the belvedere outlook, “heavenly” beds, and intimate dining. We are a full service, four-season lodge and feature cozy fireplace dining and six private rooms all with fantastic views.

A family-friendly lower level offers two extra-large family bedrooms and a central area with “sleep-over” accommodations for up to ten guests, and its own central fireplace. Three levels of open meeting areas and carafes of fine coffee offer you the possibility of making your retreat a working vacation. Endless outdoor opportunities beckon just out our front door while fine wines and beers patiently chill indoors – should work decide to wait for another day.

The Lodge at Black Rapids is located on a bluff overlooking the famous Black Rapids Glacier and the Delta River valley at the majestic northern entrance of Isabel Pass, milepost 227.4 on the Richardson Highway. We are 38 miles south of Delta Junction, an easy 2 ½ hour drive from Fairbanks or 5 hours from Anchorage!

Like the original Alaskan pioneers that came up the Valdez trail fronting the Lodge, you are sure to find a warm welcome at Black Rapids, no matter the weather. Please give us a call at 1-877-823-9413 or (907) 388-8391 or email us your inquiries at
